Common questions
How does COCO read my documents?
When you upload a document, it's sent securely from our servers to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) purely to detect the fields — type, number, issue and expiry dates, and issuer. The AI only reads; nothing is saved until you review and confirm it on the confirmation screen.
When will I be reminded?
COCO sends push and email alerts one month, one week and three days before a document expires. Reminders are never scheduled in the past — if a document is close to expiry, you'll only get the reminders that still apply.
What file types can I upload?
JPG, PNG, HEIC and PDF, up to 10 MB each. You can add multiple pages, such as the back of a card.
Is my data private?
Yes. Documents are stored in private, encrypted storage and are only ever retrieved through short-lived signed links. Only your account can access your files, and we never sell your data or show ads. Read the full Privacy Policy.
How do I delete a document or my account?
Delete any single document from its detail screen. To remove everything, go to Profile → Delete account. See the step-by-step account deletion guide.
The app didn't detect an expiry date — what do I do?
You can always enter or edit the expiry date yourself on the confirmation screen before saving. If a particular document consistently doesn't read well, email us the details (not the document itself) and we'll investigate.
